Kitsilano Farmer's Market - Vancouver, BC

Darn triathalon!  Why do you have to be around Spanish Banks on such a beautiful Sunday like this??  In order to avoid the bruhaha surrounding the triathalon (RESPECT to all those who participated!), Mr. Piglet and I park and bike into Kits until the triathalon is over.  After waiting over an hour just to move 100 m, Mr and I are quite hungry so we decide to head on over to another Vancouver Farmer's Market and see what we can score.
Located at the Kitsilano Community Centre, this location is a bit smaller than the Trout Lake Market but there's a playground right at the back for the kiddies, a large field to sit and enjoy the sun (while eating of course), the bike valet for some bike security and it also offers some good produce and eats.  So what's available?

Produce or other artisanal items anyone?  Of course there were more but as always, not everything can fit on this posting!

Some great lunch/food options including...

Yay!  I'm glad they are a fixture at these markets because I love this place!  I cannot look at their Lavender Earl Grey scones without walking away with one.  SO addictive.  I also manage to convince Mr. Piglet (without actually much convincing) to also grab something and he goes for the Jalapeno Cheese Scone.  It's a tad heavier and greasier than the LEG but still very tasty with tons of cheese and great, but not spicy, jalapeno flavor.  On the way out, we just had to get ourselves one of their loaves of bread.  No more Asiago Black Pepper so we opt for the Olive Rosemary - a bit of toasting and some really nice olive oil and black vinaigrette...  so good!  Probably a good idea to hit these guys up earlier in the day since they sell out so quickly.
These guys are at every market as well for which I'm glad but I'm also sad at the same time because they've run out of Coffee Ice Cream Sandwiches...  We have to remember to hit them up earlier in the day as well if we want to catch the more popular flavors!
This Piglet hit them up at the Thornton Park Market but Mr. missed out so he decided to give them a try.  Really good stuff...  their tacos are a tad pricey but definitely tasty.  Their hibiscus tea is good but the flavors are a bit too light for me.  Once you eat the tacos, the tea just doesn't do it for these Piglets.
I MUST have one of their Ginger Citrus drinks because it's super hot out and these things are just SO REFRESHING!  Mr. Piglet decides to surprise me with a tote bag from Vij as well.  It must be love...

There's always a lineup in front of this little cute trailer so Mr. and I decide to hit them up for the first time...  Savory crepes coming up!

There's entertainment as well - music and face painting for the kiddies!

We didn't get any produce this time around since we were going to hang out at the beach for a little while longer and we didn't bring the cooler.  There's some really beautiful stuff available though - great looking radishes, turnips, tomatoes (have you seen so many tomato varieties???), eggplant, greens and more!  Next time for sure!
