Timothy's Frozen Yogurt - Richmond, BC

It's been a long day and Mr. Piglet and I are tired from a long ride (1.5 hours) - a big meal in Steveston doesn't help either.  After a walk around and peeking inside the closed stores (nothing is open past 6 pm anywhere in this city), we decide that we should be rewarded with something sweet.  There are a few gelato places in this small neighborhood but we don't have the stomach space to try them all so we just go to the next place we see: Timothy's Frozen Yogurt.
I like that they make the waffle cones fresh...
So many choices, so little time!  What should we get??

Hedgehog Gelato - $4.50
Timothy's gets its gelato from Mario's Gelati so you know what you're getting yourself into - a really good scoop of gelato.  The hedgehog is smooth and there's a great balance of chocolate and hazelnut.  If you love those hedgehog chocolates, then this is not to be missed because it tastes exactly like that but in a frozen form.  I quickly get a bit before Mr. Piglet finishes it off - I swear he could have taken the whole thing down the pipe in one go but was pacing himself because I was there.

Mixed Berry Frozen Yogurt - $4.50
It is as described - a scoop of frozen berries (raspberries, blueberries and blackberries) and a block of frozen yogurt blended and then dispensed into a waffle cone.  How do I know?  Because they do it right in front of me!  Lighter than gelato and ice cream so it was quite nice after a heavier meal.  So refreshing on a warm day after a long bike ride...  Yum!

On a hot day, the frozen yogurt should not be missed, it's just that refreshing.  A gelato and/or frogurt from Timothy's can be the nice cap to your stroll and meal in Steveston.  Bon appetite!

Pros:
  • Lots of flavors to choose from
  • Great location - right on the docks!
  • Lots of free parking in the surrounding areas
Cons:
  • Very busy and can be very disorganized, especially during summer and peak hours - you can get ice cream and frozen yogurt on the left-hand side and only gelato on the right hand line
  • Cash only
  • Nothing really original or specialty in-house made frozen goods
