As you can see, this is not really the place to eat in - just a few 2-3 top tables inside and just a few lawn furniture/plastic tables and chairs outside. But we're not here for the ambiance are we? We're not even here for the pho or the rice, we're here for what their name denotes - the banh mi sandwiches. Give me some banh mi!!!
B4. Meatball with French Bread - $3.75
This is how - warm baguette with a super crunchy exterior and pillowy soft interior. The smell is just so intoxicating... I hope one day they invent smell-o-web or some kind of scratch-and-sniff screen because if you're outta town and you don't have the opportunity to check these sandwiches out. There is also plenty of savory meatball that is super moist. The pickled veggies are crunchy and refreshing, a great match for the sub and with a dash of their special spicy mayo and man oh man... awesome sub. Just simply awesome.
B5. Special Sub - $4.25
Vietnamese Ham, cold cut, meat, meatball
This sub is just as good - plenty of cuts of meat from Vietnamese ham to that delicious minced meatball. Every bite is kind of different since you'll hit a different kind of animal in a different kind of form. And that crunchy bread just takes it over the top! Gotta get the secret to that spicy mayo... The Hungry Piglets have already been back several times to this place - where else on Robson can you find a tasty filling meal for under $10?? Disclaimer: we've only been here for the sub sandwiches and have never tried any other food item on the menu. We've heard both good and bad things about the rest of the menu from other diners but the banh mi remains a constant favorite. Hot filling subs at a more than affordable price right downtown. Bon appetite!
Pros:
- Cheap eats - very affordable compared to what's around it
- Delicious subs
- Friendly service
- Small with very few seats
- On busy days, they do run out of bread *cry*
