Angel Cafe - Vancouver, BC

Angel Cafe - Vancouver, BC

Whenever I'm looking for a sure thing, I go to Angel Cafe and I'm guaranteed a sure meal. It's not a beautiful place, the seats are cracked and no one smiles but the service is efficient and the food always satisfies. It's your stereotypical HK cafe serving favorites such as fried rice with two sauces, chicken chow mein, shanghai fried noodle, hot pan specials, and many other cafe favorites but they also carry some originals, such as a curry that's served inside a loaf of bread! If you are a vegetarian, they have a Buddha's Feast (chow mein with assorted veggies) that can't be beat - I've tried it at other cafes and this one has, by far and away, the greatest assortment of veggies and tastiest sauce. So many choices, so little stomach space! So what did piggy and I nosh on today?

House Special Fried Spaghetti - another dish that other HK cafes serve but cannot replicate. This one is topped with a fried egg and contains chicken, ham and veggies.

Beef with black pepper sauce chow mein - I think the secret is lard and cocaine cuz it's THAT good.

The obligatory iced coffee and lemon tea to wash down our meals. If this place had crushed ice, I would never leave.

Come outside of regular dining hours and you'll get the special menu - nothing is over $8! That's when we usually go and our meal for two is never over $20!
