Duffin's Donuts - Vancouver, BC

Duffin's Donuts - Vancouver, BC

A cute little Kit came up to me at work and said that there was this hole-in-wall dive that serves really good tortas and with a turn of a key, we piglets were on site! Duffin's is nestled into one of the busiest intersections and I've driven by this place a million times but never bothered to walk in but I'm glad baby Kit convinced us to. Don't let the dingy interior fool you - it's pretty good food at very affordable prices. For a paltry $9, we were able to get two tortas and a pop!

A carne asada and a pork and egg torta. I preferred the pork and egg over the beef but I heard from our dining neighbours that the thing to order is the Vietnamese sub (another visit to come!)

So we came in looking for the tortas but I found myself distracted by the selection of donuts! Bear claws?? Lemon filled?? Angel cream??? OH MY! They're homemade handmade fresh and deep-fried in trans fat free oil everyday - who could resist??? A dozen donuts to go please! And the kicker? It's only $6.75 for a dozen. I don't know about you but I have feeling I'll be making every excuse to get donuts - birthdays, going-aways, Mondays...

They have the regular flavors like double chocolate, bavarian cream, and strawberry filled but they have original flavors such as angel cream (see below for the magic), coconut cream (see below but with coconut flavored cream and covered in coconut flakes), banana-filled, lemon-filled and blueberry-filled. Then they have the old favorites such as bear claw and peanut covered. So yummy...

Do you see that cream to donut ratio???? It's B-A-N-A-N-A-S! How can you say no???
